Design Yourself Strong!
“Strength Should Be a Priority”
Hi, I am Samantha Robbins. I am a native of New Paltz, NY, but I extend my work and life throughout the entire Hudson Valley. I received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Athletic Training from the University of New England in 2008. I am a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). (Not sure what an athletic trainer is? Please check out these two articles Athletic trainer vs Personal trainer and What is an ATC provided by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.) My most recent accomplishment is a Master’s of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition.
I have worked in various settings of the health care and fitness fields over the past 10 years, from physical therapy clinics to semi-pro athletics. In 2012, I took the position of Head Athletic Trainer at Rhinebeck Central School District. Throughout my time at Rhinebeck Central School I was able to conduct strength and conditioning sessions with many athletes and realized that it was my true passion.
With the support of my amazing family, friends, and clients in October 2015 I took a leap of faith and decided to open my own personal training and athletic development studio in Kingston, NY. I never dreamed that two and half years later I would be opening a 6,000 square foot space which will also be home to an indoor softball and baseball training facility.
* Design Yourself Strong is currently located in a temporary location at 330 Rte 212 Saugerties, NY 12477 (next to Big Lots) until our future location is ready. Our future home will be located in the rear of the Big Lots plaza.*
At Design Yourself Strong Sports Performance, I train beginner to elite athletes of every sport. However, my educational background and professional experiences allows me to work with anyone of any age who wants to improve their health and fitness in individual and group settings. Bottom line “I love to help people become a better version of themselves!”
